- St. John's University was originally founded by American
missionaries in 1879 and was one of China's great educational institutions
for more than 70 years. St. John's College was modeled after St. John's
University and is the second residence for graduate students in UBC (after
Green College). It is aiming at attracting international students to promote
internationalism.
