Event: Serendipity. A special event celebrating 25 years of Vancouver's Roundtable. Serendipity includes a gala 25th Anniversary Banquet on Friday evening featuring the hilarious poet, Loris Lesynski, from Toronto. This will be a solid-silver celebration with festive memories and, of course, door prizes galore. Presenters include: Karen Levine, the winner of the 2003 Children's Literature Roundtables of Canada Information Book Award, for Hanna's Suitcase; Michael Foreman, renowned British illustrator, Greenway Medal winner, and author and illustrator of War Boy and more than 150 other books; Klaus Flugge, editor of Andersen Press, the children's literature powerhouse publisher of Tony Ross, Melvin Burgess, Ruth Brown, David McKee, Chris Riddell, Colin McNaughton, Ralph Steadman and others; Isobelle Carmody, fantasy and science fiction writer from Australia, The Legendsong Saga, The Obernewtyn Chronicles, The Gathering and others; David Wiesner, New York based illustrator, two time Caldecott Medal winner, for Tuesday and for The Three Pigs and author/illustrator of many more books.
