Part of the Canadian Heritage Information Network, this database is "compiled and maintained by the National Gallery of Canada Library (and is) a bilingual union list that identifies the location of documentation files on Canadian artists. Twenty-three libraries and art galleries across Canada have contributed biographical information and lists of their documentation files to create this resource which contains information for over 42,700 artists."
- Celebrating Women's Achievements ... Women Artists in Canada
To celebrate Women's History Month 2002, the National Library of Canada has prepared biographies highlighting the achievements of twenty three women artists in Canada, working in a range of media, over the last 150 years. Each entry includes a reproduction of one work of art, a portrait of the artist, when available, and a list of suggested readings. The site also includes a selective bibliography of general material on Canadian women artists.
