Plagiarism Resource Centre: For Faculty

Students may plagiarize for a variety of reasons. They may not know the difference between plagiarism and paraphrasing or may be unsure how to properly cite references. For students raised in a non-Western culture, the idea that words can be owned may be a new or difficult concept to understand.

This guide is designed to assist faculty in preventing plagiarism and helping teach students the consequences of plagiarism.
