New database trial: Canadian Social Investment Database
The Canadian Social Investment Database consists of reports evaluating the performance of Canadian public companies in the following areas: environmental, corporate governance (eg, share structure), community and society, customers, and employees (eg, diversity). It allows users to create reports comparing the performance of companies within an industry sector, within an individual portfolio, or on an index (TSX, S&P/TSX60, TSX Capped Income Trust). The trial lasts until February 15.
Search Engine Users: Internet searchers are confident, satisfied and trusting – but also "unaware and naïve"
Pew Internet & American Life Project has published a new report, detailing its findings from a survey of Internet users. According to the survey, Internet users tend to settle with a single search engine, feel confident at using it, but are unaware of how search engines present sponsored results and unpaid results differently.
MBA Watch: Darden to offer Executive MBA
The University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business plans to offer a 2-year executive MBA for executives who wish to earn an MBA while still working. Darden's executive MBA program will target those who have worked for 10 to 12 years, and will focus more on leadership development, while featuring the same core curriculum as the full-time MBA programme.
