Navigating our site.

We have multiple ways to help you find your way through our ever-growing site. The major categories are Resources (information resources and professional resources) in the left column and Getting Started and Quick Links in the right column.

  Getting Started

If you are a new internet user, this is a good place to get started. We have compiled here a number of links to lists and tutorials that can get you going in a particular subject or just get you familiar with using the internet.

Information Resources
If you know the type of information you are looking for, you can browse the categories down the left.

Quick Links
Direct links to some of our most popular sites.

Search Box

The Search box at the top of the left column allows you to search for specific resources by name. For example a search for PubMed finds all resources that have PubMed in the title.

The results
  1. PubMed.
  2. Tips for using PubMed.
  3. A PubMed tutorial.

Browsing the Resources by Category

When you click on a category ie: Indexes and Databases you are taken to an alphabetical list of resources.

Click on the name to go to the resource.

Click on About to find out more information on this resource.

Narrowing down the list of resources

When you are looking at the resource list you have the option of browsing through -- ALL -- the entire list, or you can focus on a subject ie: Nursing. Just select the subject focus from the pull down menu. This will retrieve all the resources that have been categorized with the subject "Nursing".

*Note: Many of the resources are interdisciplinary in scope -- you may want to browse through several categories.
