conferences are gatherings of scientists usually
organized by scientific/professional organizations.
At conferences, scientists
present their research developments to those
in attendance.
As well as sharing their
own research with the scientific community, scientists keep
abreast of new developments in their field obtained by their peers,
and thus gather ideas for their own research.
Scientific conferences
also provide an opportunity for scientists to network
with others interested in their field.
