The University of British Columbia Library has the British Columbia Voters’ Lists for provincial general elections for the years 1874-1898, 1949-1979, and 1990. The last year was issued on microfiche. Voters' lists are no longer made available to the public, under the provisions of the provincial Freedom of Information and Preservation of Privacy Act.

Both the British Columbia Archives and the Legislative Library in Victoria hold collections of the provincial voters’ lists.

Voters’ lists are a rich source of information on individuals eligible to vote since 1874. All lists include a registration number and the voter’s name, place of residence and occupation. The lists are arranged by electoral district. In 1990 the automation of the voters’ lists enabled the production of a single alphabetic list of all registered provincial voters. This list was issued by the Elections Branch, Ministry of Provincial Secretary.
