[British Columbia: a collection of maps, diagrams, engineering and architectural
plans accompanying the papers of the British Columbia Electric Railway Company,
including its related companies.] / British Columbia Electric Railway Company.
-- [Vancouver: British Columbia Electric Railway Company, 1861 -1961].
650 maps; various formats; various scales; 141 x 102 cm. and smaller.
The records of the British Columbia Electric Railway Company were transferred
to the University of British Columbia Library (in lieu of the Provincial
Archives) in 1964 when the Provincial Government "nationalized"
the B.C.E.R. and the B.C. Power Commission to form the British Columbia
Hydro and Power Authority. The Records were accompanied by a file list,
and have been maintained in the order in which they were received. As the
arrangement is not obvious, an index has been made for the inventory of
maps.
This collection was processed in 1978 and 1979 by students in the Librarianship
614 class. Wendie McHenry compiled the inventory for maps in Boxes 1, 8,
179, 180, 184, and 185; Mary Sakellaridis did Boxes 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 12,
13, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21; Nancy Stilwell did Boxes 21 to 36; and Allan
McFarlane did Boxes 37 - 42, 54, 57 -59, 71 - 74, 78, 83- 87, 91 - 93,
101, 103, 105, 121, 135, 138, 140, 143, 158, 163, 165, 167, and 168.
