This section is a small sample of a very broad subject.  Below are just a few works worth noting in the Thomas Murray Collection which relates to conflict in Canada.  The War was published in New York and provided Americans with a weekly account of events in their first war as a nation, the War of 1812.  Louis Joseph Papineau describes, in his own words, his role in the Lower Canada Rebellion of 1837 in “Histoire de l’Insurrection du Canada,” and provides even greater insight through his annotations in his personal copies of the six volume A History of the Late Province of Lower Canada.

The War.  Vol. 1, No. 1 (June 23, 1812) - No. 52 (June 15, 1813).  New York: s.n., [1813].
