Curtin University of Technology - Centre for Aboriginal Studies
Part of the Division of Humanities at Curtin University of Technology, the Centre for Aboriginal Studies offers courses exclusively for Aboriginal and Islander people. CUT also provides a Mainstream Aboriginal Studies Unit which offers some units in Aboriginal Studies to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students.

Cantebury University- Te Wahanga Maori (Department of Maori)
Established in 1974 the Department of Maori currently offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in literature and history. PhD's are also available through the department.
Massey University- School of Maori Studies
The School of Maori Studies is affliated with the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and also contributes to programs in Agriculture and Horticulture, Business Studies, Education, and Science.
University of Auckland- Maori Studies
Maori Studies formally separated from Anthropology in 1991 to create its own program which now offers degrees in Maori language and culture up to the PhD level. Maori is also a component in many other departments and faculties. University of Auckland also hosts the International Research Institute for Maori and Indigenous Education.
University of Otago- Te Tari Maori (Department of Maori Studies)
The Department of Maori Studies is located within the Humanities division of the University of Otago. The department offers a B.A., M.A., MLitt, and a PhD.
