Caption | Such tearful scenes of family reunion are often seen at Kai Tak airport every time a Government chartered flight flies in from Ho Chi Minh City, bringing back Hong Kong belongers and their dependents stranded in Vietnam since the communists took over in 1975. The Government has been processing applications from Hong Kong citizens to bring over their wives, dependent children under 21 and single parents from Vietnam. So far (June), close to 4,500 Hong Kong belongers in Vietnam have been repatriated by flights by the government. |
