Caption	The 33-day vigil by Vietnamese refugees on board the freighter Skyluck proved too much for a group of 100 on Sunday March 11.  In an effort to publicize their frustration the 100 jumped overboard and headed for shore, much to the amazement of patrolling marine police.  However, half of them were quickly picked up by nearby police launches and escorted back to the controversial freighter.  The rest who made it were arrested by police and escorted to the Lamma Island police post at soon as they reached the island's Hung Shing Yeh beach.  While at police post, the refugees, in their late teens and 20s, threw a message written in English to the press through the wire netting, asking that the Skyluck refugees be allowed to land.  They also held high a white banner with "Please Help Us" written in red.  The refugees later said they planned the swim two days earlier to draw the public's attention to their plight.
