This building is named after John Owen in honour of his huge contribution to sports in UBC and B.C.

It was originally planned to built for the people that utilized the playfields. It is presently used as a medical clinic. It houses the Division of Sport Medicine and Sports Medicine Clinic in which sport medicine group provides service by treating injured athletes referred to them.
