Interlibrary Loan Service

Fee-for-Service Clients

The Law Library would be pleased to fulfil your legal information needs. If you need to borrow a book or obtain a copy of a journal article, case, or other similar material, we will prepare the material for you for a fee. (For individuals not associated with a university, institution or business: please make your interlibrary loan request through your local public library.)

Please fax your requests to (604) 822-6864 or e-mail your requests to law.ill@ubc.ca. Generally, materials will be prepared for delivery by the next working day. If you have a rush request (to be filled within 3 working hours), it is preferable that you fax your request to ensure that it is handled promptly.

Include as much information as is possible when making your requests:
- citations: titles, authors, dates and page numbers
- address, contact names, telephone and fax numbers
- expectations of type of delivery and completion times
- special requirements such as photocopy method: enlargement, reduction, etc.

Fee-for-service charges are outlined in the fee schedule below. Additional charges are outlined at the bottom of this fee schedule and include a rush service charge. Please call if you have any questions (604) 822-6432.
